Following a year filled with challenges, Al Roker and Deborah Roberts are ready for a year filled with joy.
During the weekend, the couple commemorated their 28th wedding anniversary. They each posted heartfelt tributes on Instagram, accompanied by nostalgic photos capturing moments from their journey together over the years.
“28 years ago, @deborahrobertsabc promised to be there for better, for worse, thick and thin. Good times and bad. But the greatest gift is the family she has given me. Happy Anniversary, sweetheart,” Roker, 69, captioned his post.
In the past year, as the Today weatherman faced a series of life-threatening medical crises, Roberts, at 62 years old, steadfastly stood by her husband’s side, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to be there for Roker, in both sickness and in health.
In his anniversary post, Roker shared a carousel of photos that featured several images from their wedding day. Among these, he included a picture of their children from their younger years and a snapshot of the couple alongside former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama when they had the honor of meeting them.
Roberts seized the opportunity to pay tribute to her husband of 28 years.
She created her own carousel of photos featuring the couple, which included an image of them standing beside a cake designed to resemble The New York Times front page announcing their wedding. These photos spanned their journey together throughout the years, accompanied by a heartfelt caption dedicated to Roker.

Roker and Roberts initially crossed paths in 1990 while both were employed at NBC. Subsequently, Roberts transitioned to ABC. The couple has two children together, Leila, who is 24 years old, and Nick, who is 21 years old. Roker also has an older daughter, Courtney, who is 35, from a previous marriage.
